8 Bloggers And Their Lawyer James Orengo Appear At CID Headquarters But Cops Were Only Interested In Robert Alai Whom They Detained For 5 Hours (Photos)

The State has waged war on gallant online soldiers as it summoned and arrested bloggers deemed to be ‘dangerous’.

Yassin Juma, Anthony Njoroge Mburu and Cyprian Nyakundi are some of the bloggers who have been guests of the state since the year began.

The government has cracked the whip on ‘errant’ keyboard warriors for what it terms as ‘misuse of licensed telecommunication gadgets’.

Bloggers Robert Alai, Seth Odongo (Dikembe Disembe), Yassin Juma, Charles Mark Dienya, Eddy, Phelix G-cord, George Nyongesa, Cyprian Nyakundi and Patrick Msafiri were on Monday summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for grilling.

The bloggers had a date with the police yesterday. 8 bloggers presented themselves at the CID headquarters for grilling.

They were accompanied by their lawyer, Siaya Senator James Orengo. CID officers were however interested with the ‘biggest threat’ Robert Alai.

Alai who is being accused of undermining authority of the president and misuse of telecommunication device, was detained for 5 hours.

The bloggers will today head to Milimani courts to hear a High Court ruling on the Constitutionality of Section 29(b) of the Kenya Communication Amendment Act of 2008 Cap 411.
