5 Reasons Why Willy Paul Will Never Go Down The Drain Despite All The Controversies And Negative Publicity

Mention Willy Paul and Ghafla! Kenya will pop up. The two names have been the talk in town after this esteemed blog went into deeper seas to unearth one of Kenya’s most untold stories. The story of a successful celebrity who overlooked his biological mother to flaunt a ‘fake’ mother and lie to the whole world that that was his real mother.

Were it not for the evidence we backed our expose with, by now the whole world would have wondered why we were against Willy Paul, thanks to the bootlicking nature of a vast majority of Kenyans who always want to receive plaudits for standing with and for negativity and ills in society.

That aside, Willy Paul seems to have quickly moved on and put all the negativity behind him. Well, here are five possible reasons why, despite all the controversies the singer has been involved in including allegations of theft, Willy Paul will always stand tall and soldier on:

Talent

Wily Paul first came into the limelight fully when he collaborated with veteran gospel singer Gloria Muliro for their hit song Sitolia, a song which to date remains one of the greatest collabos in the gospel industry in Kenya. It was here that many Kenyans came to know this very talented boy who smartly complimented Gloria Muliro’s ever wowing voice to make a Bongo gospel hit that always cools the heart every time it hits the air.

Since then, Willy has gone from strength to strength, making yet another hit when he collaborated with Size 8: Tam Tam. In short, Willy Paul’s talent is just immense and this perhaps helps to keep him high even when he is hit with the worst controversy. His talent makes us forget so quickly and remain his hard core fans.

Care-less Attitude

“Talk what you wanna talk, publish what you wanna publish, yap as much as you can, I really don’t mind what you say. All I care about is my life and music.” We tend to believe this is what Willy Paul says to himself every time controversy hits him.

When Bahati accused him of stealing his songs, Willy Paul uttered no word. Instead, he responded with an immediate release of one of the songs he allegedly stole from Bahati. Kenyans, as expected, badly trolled him and called him all sorts of names, both on his social media accounts and on Bahati’s. Funny enough, Willy Paul gave all these a deaf ear and moved on. He clearly cares less. Perhaps it was a bit surprising when he called to ask us not to publish the expose of neglecting his own mum, but even after we were adamant and went on to publish it, he accepted it and quickly moved on, with bringing his mother to the limelight for the first time showing that he took this positively and cares less of what people will say after.

His care less attitude will always help him because he gives little room for people to talk even more.

Swag

Perhaps it is justifiable to say that to date Willy Paul remains one of the few gospel artistes whose swag and choice of fashion is incredibly admirable. This boy has defied all odds and the perceived modes of dressing for gospel artistes to embrace a culture synonymous to secular music and its artistes. His songs also tell it all because he broke away from monotonous gospel style of singing to embrace a bongo-style which has clearly distanced him from the rest of the gospel artistes.

This explains why Sitolia, his very first hit, got a lot of acclaim from both Christians and non-christians because it was more Bongoish than Kenyan. To date, more and more artistes are following the trend. His swag clearly attracts more and more admirers and even amid controversies, many are quickly going to forget his inequities with a fresh swag at hand.

Creativity

Willy Paul has been accused of stealing tunes and lyrics from other artistes’ songs and implementing them in his own songs. For a while we thought so until when his mother showed us some of the songs he has been scribbling on paper ever since he realized his passion for music. A mother can never lie about her child, no matter what.

She was literally taken aback when Bahati accused her son of stealing his songs and wondered why he thought Willy cannot write his own. Well, his creativity is admirable, to say the least. Apart from being creative, Willy Paul has an ability to execute a song perfectly, whether his own or stolen. Sometimes we feel he does songs a lot of justice than the owner could do and feel like if at all he stole them, he is justified to do so. His creativity and ability to execute songs, even the stolen ones, is a clear reason why we wouldn’t mind if he is embroiled in yet another controversy.

Good Advisors

How Willy Paul quickly decided to bring his mother to the limelight at the Groove Award launch ceremony clearly shows that there are people behind him who make the right decisions for him. Imagine what would happen if he never showed her after the Ghafla Expose! The singer was quick to denounce the expose and told the world that he loves his mother. Blogs across the competition got a story to embark on after the Ghafla expose and this greatly helped to cool the temper that had built among Kenyans.

How he managed to ignore Bahati after accusations of stealing his songs is still a puzzle in many people’s minds. Who in his right mind cares less when accused of theft when they know they are clean? It takes a genius to do so, and Willy Paul proved that the day he decided to respond to Bahati by releasing one of the songs he allegedly stole from him. This was a hard tackle which made Bahati look more of a fool than an artiste. He itched where his hand couldn’t reach for a scratch.

The men behind Paul’s team deserve plaudits for doing an incredible job to make this wonder kid remain relevant even when controversies threaten to drawn him down the sewer.
