Janet received the overwhelming news after a PET scan in New Delhi India, the doctor also told Janet’s husband that his wife had only 6 months to live but he did not tell her to prevent her from getting dispirited.

A brilliant idea as Janet fought the cancer fiercely and this year, she announced that she was finally cancer free.

At only 9 years old, Nasimiyu became a national celebrity as she was bravely battling a rare and relatively aggressive type of cancer called Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A cancer of the lymphatic system

After the involvement of Kenyans and collection of funds, Nasimiyu moved to the UK with her family where she was treated and became cancer free in 2012.

This year, Rose returned to the country and she was a far cry from the gaunt 9 year old we met 5 years ago.

5. Jadudi

Just like Nasimiyu, Jadudi rose to prominence for his spirited battle against cancer. Through the intervention of Kenyans, 6 Million shillings were raised so that Jadudi could go to India to remove the tumour in his brain.

A surgery that was successful and we were told it was the last one ever. In May this year, the cancer struck back and once again, Jadudi went to India for his fifth surgery.

It seems that he is doing better as he is very active on Twitter.
