The past week was a bad week to be a lion in Kenya! Just when you thought Mohawk was the only lion killed last week news trickles indicating that a two and a half year old lion named ‘Lemek’ was speared to death on Thursday by morans in the same county Mohawk was killed. As if that’s not enough, police seized Kes 6.4 million worth of ivory hidden in a cargo at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The cargo which was on transit heading to Bangkok, Thailand from Maputo, Mozambique carried 18 pieces of raw ivory and lion teeth.
